Held in Geneva, the World Trade Organization by the Eighth Ministerial Meeting of 17 new agreements, the WTO formally approved the accession of the Republic of Montenegro, Montenegro was finally completed after six years of WTO accession process.
Montenegro's Prime Minister Igor Luksic said in Geneva that day, joining the WTO, the Montenegrin integration into the modern international economic system to achieve another major achievement that will help Montenegro to attract more foreign investment.

WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy said that Montenegro's accession, the WTO to further expand the coverage of international trade, but also embodies the WTO multilateral trading system still retains the advantages and market policies.
Montenegro formally applied to join the WTO in 2004, and in the following year to become Russia, Samoa and other countries join the WTO after the fourth member.
