TOD’S
Dorino Della Valle started the shoe making business out of a basement in the late 1920s. Fast forwarding to the mid 60s, Diego Della Valle, Dorino's elder son took over the family business and continued to expand the TOD’S empire, by turning the relatively small workshop into a multi-making factory. TOD’S started manufacturing shoes for American department stores in the 1970s.
Diego brought in innovative marketing strategies in the early 1980s, keeping the brand’s charm of its handmade manufacturing process going on to create brands of lifestyle named TOD’S, Hogan and Fay. Roger Vivier, maker of high luxury shoes was acquired in the mid–1990s and developing of the brand commenced at the beginning of this Millennium.
Famous for its signature shoe, the ‘Gommino’, TOD’S created this casual but luxe handmade moccasin with the idea of merging its luxe detailing with practical, hardwearing footwear technology. With 133 rubber pebbles making up its sole this created an innovative,
tod's hommetodstods, practical design that continued to boast the brand’s premium qualities, resulting in the perfect shoe for every occasion. In 1997, the brand expanded its collection to luxury bags including the branding of TOD’S marvellous craftsmanship. From the TOD’S headquarters in the central Italian region of the Marche, to its worldwide boutiques,
stephen burks featured in esquire magazine, TOD’S is present from New York to Tokyo, Milan to Los Angeles,
