BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning composer Bill Conti will wield the baton for his 18th time for the 78th Academy Awards ceremony in March, it was announced Wednesday.
Conti's own Oscar was for the 1983 score of "The Right Stuff." He was nominated for the song "Gonna Fly Now" from "Rocky" as well as the title song to "For Your Eyes Only."
The prolific composer has won three Emmys for his work with the Academy Awards Orchestra and has garnered 11 Emmy nominations in all.
Among Conti's other film credits are "The Thomas Crown Affair," "The Karate Kid," "Broadcast News," "Private Benjamin," "Rocky II," "Rocky III" and "Rocky V."
The 78th Academy Awards will be broadcast live by ABC from Hollywood's Kodak Theater on March 5.related articles:
