There is no more valuable commodity in baseball today than the homegrown ace. In terms of production for the dollar,
cheap Colorado Rockies Hats, nothing can compare.
Just look at the San Francisco Giants: they have one starter making $18 million because he signed as a veteran free agent (Barry Zito) and another making close to the minimum because he’s homegrown with little service time (Matt Cain). They’ll probably get the same production out of both.
Lets give Phil a break. Even if he gets destroyed tonight, it takes time for the best pitchers to develop. The point is – we need a starting arm,
Cheap Chicago Cubs Hats, now. Pavano is a mystery,
Cheap Cincinnati Reds Hats, Moose is frail,
wholesale New York Mets Hats, and Jeff Karstens and Kei Igawa look like high schoolers out on the mound. Why not take a risk with our ’savior’? He needs to learn sometime. I like this move a lot, and like you Tyler,

The only other top draft picks to actually appear for the Yankees since the 1979 draft were Andy Fox and Derek Jeter.

So now the Red Sox have their revenge:”The Curse of Bernie”.
It’s a huge risk,
Rockstar Energy hats, and as April has shown, the Yankees are willing to abandon their careful winter planning in a hurry. Joe Torre said Mariano Rivera would never be asked to get a save of more than three outs. Cashman said Phil Hughes would spend a full year in the minors. Not so, in either case.
The Yankees cannot afford to miss on Hughes. If he turns out to be a .500 pitcher, fine. But if it turns out that the Yankees rushed him to the big leagues and he becomes another injury casualty,
Wholesale Red Bull Hats, they will never forgive themselves. Innings are more stressful in the majors than anywhere else. And what happens if Hughes dominates? Are they really going to send him back to the minors to leave Igawa or Jeff Karstens in the rotation? And if Hughes stays up and keeps dominating,
Wholesale Milwaukee Brewers Hats, do they keep him here through September and, perhaps,
Kansas City Royals Hats, October, piling up 200 innings on that golden arm?
Interesting note about Hughes’ debut: he’ll be the first No. 1 draft pick by the Yankees to pitch for the team since Bill Burbach, the team’s first-rounder in the inaugural draft of 1965. Burbach pitched for the Yankees from 1969-71. The Yankees took a pitcher with their first pick 14 times between Burbach and Hughes,
wholesale Chras Bromn Hats, who was picked in 2004. But none of them ever pitched for the Yanks.
