Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 - June 25, 2009), often dubbed the "King of Pop," was an American recording artist, widely regarded as one of the greatest entertainers of modern times. Treating wine as if it were alive and giving it due care is a lengthy and time-consuming process. Selecting appropriate wine glasses and serving wine as per etiquette involves several steps some of which have been explained in a nutshell here-
Step 01: Types of glasses-
The flavor of wine is affected by the glass in which it is poured for which reason the shape of the glass is essential. Step 02: Caring for Wine Glasses-

Glassware should be stored upright on a well ventilated shelf or hung from a specialty glass rack. If glasses are hand washed the water used should be steaming hot and the amount of detergent should be very little. Depending on the type of the glass, a dishwasher can easily break the stem during the wash. Dry Wine glasses should immediately be dried with a lint free cloth to remove water spots. Prior to serving, the glasses should be rinsed with distilled water or with the wine to be served.
Step 03: Tips on serving wine-
Quickly chill Red or White wine by placing bottle in a bucket of ice water rather than in the freezer. Leave in ice water for approximately 10 minutes.
Chill sparkling wine in the refrigerator for at least four hours before serving. In a crunch, chill in ice water for 20 to 30 minutes.
To decant bottle-aged wine easily, insert an unbleached coffee filter into the neck of a glass pitcher and pour the wine through filter into decanter.
Fill wine glasses slightly less than half full, allowing room for wine to breathe.
A half bottle of wine per guest per hour is a safe estimate.
Step 04: Wine tasting-
Wine tasting is the sensory evaluation of wine, encompassing more than just taste; mouth feel, aroma, and color. The main aims of wine tasting are:
1. To assess the wine's quality.
2. To determine maturity and suitability for aging or immediate drinking.
3. To detect the aromas and flavors of the wine.
4. To discover the many facets of wine, so as to better appreciate it.
Step 05: Wine temperature-
The trick with wine is to store it at a stable, ideal temperature, then to serve it at a temperature which best shows off its personal characteristics. If you serve a wine too cool, the flavors will be hidden. It's like eating a frozen pizza while it's still frozen. If you serve a wine too hot, all you can taste is the alcohol.
