The Coalition on Kids Affected by AIDS is a collective of private and public foundations and re-granting organizations in the North and South. We work to improve the lives of youngsters infected by and affected by HIV/AIDS, aided by key technical experts. For our terms of reference,Office 2007 Standard Key, click here.
CCABA members are private or public foundations and re-granting organizations that make a financial contribution based on a sliding scale. In addition, there is a small group of CCABA members who act as technical experts.
CCABA's Strategic Focus - 2011-2015
In November 2010, CCABA made a decision that new project function will demonstrate how the intersection between and family-centred services, community systems-strengthening in assist of kids,Office 2010 Sale, and social protection for youngsters are the key to achieving an end to vertical transmission by 2015.
CCABA’s Current Projects:
Holding a series of meetings on defining the community/supportive environment (family-centred services, community support,Microsoft Office Standard 2010 Key, social protection) components of the vertical transmission cascade and how these can assist the efforts of the health system.
Jointly with The Teresa Group and supported by Global Action for Kids, organizing & holding a young children & HIV/AIDS symposium in Washington DC (AIDS 2012). This symposium will take place on July 20th and 21st, 2012 at the Georgetown Conference Center, in Washington. Registration for the symposium will begin in early 2012.
Supporting a Senior Vulnerable Kids Specialist seconded the Global Fund on AIDS,Office 2007 Professional Plus Key, Tuberculosis and Malaria and hired with funding from the Swedish International Development Agency. CCABA is sitting on an advisory committee for this position.
Helping to help a study being run by University College London and Stellenbosch University in several Eastern and Southern African countries involving a children’s cohort. This study, launched with CCABA's support,Office Professional Key, will determine what links exist between community-based program interventions aimed at vulnerable young children and psychosocial and health outcomes in kids.
Leading a project to develop international guidelines that will assist care workers to manage ethical dilemmas when proving services to especially-marginalized communities (###### workers, drug users, men who have ###### with men). This project is being undertaken in partnership with the International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO), The Global Network of HIV-Positive People (GNP+), the International Network of People who Use Drugs (INPUD), the Global Network of Men who have ###### with Men (GNMSM), and the Global Network of ###### Work Projects. CCABA's interest in this project stems from the strategic objective of reducing the barriers to family-centred services for young children.
Advocating for activities to highlight children and research on kids at AIDS 2012 in Washington.
In partnership with the International AIDS Society, CCABA has created The IAS/CCABA Prize for Excellence in Research Related to the Needs of Kids Affected by AIDS. This award will be presented for the second time at the CCABA-Teresa Group Symposium and at AIDS 2012 in Washington.
