Cam Newton's NFL Draft concerns may be overhyped after all. According to USA Today, Marvin Lewis and the Bengals are very interested in Newton and could take him as the fourth overall draft pick.
Obviously for someone with as much upside as Newton, going fourth isn't a prototypical 'Best-Case' scenario. But in Cam's case, the most important factor may be a supportive atmosphere and coach. Fair or not,
Lunettes de soleil Chloe AA, controversy from his college days will continue to follow him for his first few years in the NFL. It's important that whichever team lands Newton is willing to be patient and is completely sold on developing him as a franchise QB.
This is why Lewis' praise is so important. Plenty of coaches are willing to commend Cam's talent, but fewer comment on his resiliency. If Lewis and the Bengals take Cam fourth, he has a serious chance to become Carson Palmer's replacement and start within the next couple of years. That may turn out to be a much better situation than being hailed as the savior of the desperate Panthers.
Verdict: Cam Newton to the Bengals is a Best-Case Scenario.
