Internet marketing and online marketing are now the focus of any worthwhile marketing campaign, and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), is core to this strategy.
SEO is the process of optimising a website for search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. These are the top three UK search engines (in the purest sense), however the market leader is Google as is likely to be the case for the foreseeable future, with approximately 90% of UK users choosing this over any other search engine.
If your site is more visible, you get more visits. The more visitors to your site, the better the chances of getting an enquiry or making a sale you have. However it's not just a numbers game - it's about relevance too. People who search for your products or services,
new look shoes, and then find your site are much more likely to convert into to a sale, rather than someone who stumbles across it by accident.
This can be achieved in two ways - organic listings and sponsored listings. Statistically, organic listings are trusted more by users, and therefore receive approximately 75% of the clicks, with the sponsored listings getting only 25%. Using a combination of SEO and PPC, is generally the most effective strategy.
However search engines aren't the only way of bringing targeted traffic to your website. Youtube is the second most popular search engine. Adding tutorials,

Facebook reportedly receives many times the traffic of Google. Using facebook, Twitter and other social media websites can be very successful, particularly for consumer focused products and services, while LinkedIn is an excellent place to market business to business products and services.
Search Engine Optimisation (often spelled Search Engine Optimization due to the US spelling) is really not the black art it's cracked up to be. At 16, we take away the smoke and mirrors to show you what we're actually doing. If you fancy having a go at it yourself, we also provide SEO training courses.
