Default Windows 7 Pro Product Key Server System Requiremen

Today I wanted to cover a few topics.First, based on the response to the last blog post,Windows 7 Pro Product Key, I will try and put together some ribbon screenshots for those interested. Hopefully this week. I might not get to XP and Vista,Buy Windows 7, but I will do what I can.Second, some bad news. Previously I had written that we had added an xlCallerAddress function for use in XLLs. Turns out that there was a problem with the implementation that we only recently found, and at the stage we are with getting ready to ship, we are going to have to remove this function for Excel 2007 since we do not have time to fix and re-test it. I am disappointed, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew of the change.Third, Shahar has a post on volatile UDFs and how volatile functions behave on the server for those interested. Finally, the system requirements for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 have been announced, which includes the minimum requirements for running Excel Services. Since I have had a number of emails/comments on the matter, I thought I would post them here. There are three basic types of Office Server 2007 installations: Single Box, Small Farm, and Medium to Large Farm. A single box installation has everything on one box,Office 2010 Download, and installs its own version of SQL Server Express. A small farm installation has both the Web Front End (WFE) components and the Application server components on the same machine, but requires a full version of SQL to be installed on a separate machine. Finally, the Medium to Large Farm installation separates out the WFE components and the Application Server components onto separate machines, and again requires a full version of SQL to be installed on its own machine. In this topology, you can have as many WFE or Application Server machines as you require.Any machine that you install Officer Server 2007 on must be running Windows Server 2003 SP1 (both 32- and 64-bit are supported). For the Single Box installation, the requirements for the one machine are as follows:
Processor of at least 2.5Ghz 1GB of RAM minimum, with 2GB of RAM recommended 5GB or more of disk spaceFor the Small Farm installation,Office 2007 Serial, the requirements for the Office Server 2007 machine are as follows: Dual-Processors of at least 2.5Ghz 2GB of RAM minimumFor the Medium to Large Farm installation, the requirements for the WFE machines are:
Dual-Processors of at least 2.5Ghz 2GB of RAM minimumMeanwhile the requirements for the Application server machines are:
Dual-Processors of at least 2.5Ghz 2GB of RAM minimumFor both the Small Farm and Medium to Large Farm configurations,Microsoft Office 2010, the SQL Server must meet the following system requirements: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 SP3 (or later) or SQL Server 2005 Dual-Processors of at least 2.5Ghz Minimum 2GB of RAMFor more information, and to see the system requirements for Office client and other server products, check things out here.
