I purchased a couple of completely new zumba dance costumes and two sets of zumba shoes for my feet. My theory is that acquiring two pairs of shoes might help them to each last much longer and that they could keep my hip and legs from becoming fatigued by using a single set of shoes. My workout routines are far better now and I've the energy I need after zumba class to stay on my feet.
I've been taking Zumba lessons now for approximately the last six months. I never put a lot of thought into my footwear. I have been bouncing around within the very same footwear from the very first day. Actually that isn't accurate. I was dancing around in these shoes for probably half a year before that too during my aerobics class. I took wonderful care of those shoes and simply wore them for dance class. The bottoms of the footwear in no way touched anything apart from the hardwood of a dance floor.
It is at this very uncommon time that one must consider factors like improper casting, prescribing, and manufacture as a cause for continued discomfort. The physician prescribing the orthotic should review the orthotic completely at this point, as subtle changes or problems can sometimes be missed that can contribute to an uncomfortable orthotic. At times the orthotic may need to be returned to the lab for modification or replacement. In many instances, a simple modification in the doctor's office can bring about an alteration that is successful in making the orthotics comfortable. With all this in mind, one final factor needs to be considered. There are those out there, who by personal quirk, psychological irritation, or bad luck simply cannot tolerate anything to be placed under the feet outside of a loose and cushioned shoe. Unfortunately, these people will never be able to tolerate an orthotic. Fortunately, this is an extremely rare occurrence in this author's experience.
Going through the shoes now I know the signs of a worn out pair of shoes. Indicators to watch out for prior to them starting to tire out my feet. When I put my hands in the shoes there are heavy

What I didn't realize was these shoes were in fact incredibly used up and hurting my feet. Hurting is probably not the best word. By the end of a workout my feet ended up weary and they were spent. All I wanted to do was remain off my feet and place them up on the ottoman following a zumba class.
Once I turned the shoes over there were some other signs that I required a new pair of shoes there too. I naturally throw my feet outward and am a heavy heel striker. Due to this the heel of the sneakers had broken down much faster versus the forefoot. On the outside edge of the heel the shoe was so worn out that the rubber on the bottom part was almost removed and the impact absorbing material had squeezed about thirty percent greater than anywhere else on the shoe.
When someone has a foot condition in which there is a constant state of inflammation and tissue damage, and this has not yet healed, then the introduction of a firm device under the irritated tissue can cause pain and discomfort. Certain conditions, such as those involving heel or arch damage, must be healed or sufficiently improved before an orthotic can be tolerated properly. Once the condition is treated, then the orthotic will function more comfortably and will usually contribute to the prevention of the condition returning if it was related to one's foot structure in the first place (as many foot problems are).Once all outside factors are accounted for, and one has gone though a proper break-in period, any continuation of orthotic discomfort should be a cause for concern.
I thought these were signs of a nicely broken in pair of zumba shoes. Turns out I could not have been more incorrect. My shoes were well beyond broken in and were just plain busted.
