[Ed] had a netbook he no longer required and made the decision to produce it into a mini MAME cabinet for a number of his household members. MAME cabinets are quite abundant,Windows 7 Enterprise, but this 1 was so nicely done, we needed to reveal it.
He eliminated the monitor from an EeePC 901 to be able to get some exact measurements, then went about crafting a mini cabinet from MDF. The entire point was wrapped in sticky label paper adorned with old-school Galaga graphics,Microsoft Office 2007, then coated in plexiglass for a good sleek look that also protects the artwork.
He utilised an iPac two controller board to wire up all the buttons and joystick for the netbook,Microsoft Office Professional 2010, opting to solder the controller’s wires directly to the USB header on the eeePC’s motherboard. A power switch was added up on top for easy operation,Office 2010 Home And Student Key, and the cabinet was sealed shut, though the back does open easily in the event that maintenance is required. The system is managed using the Maximus Arcade front end for MAME,Microsoft Office 2010 Key, which [Ed] claims is incredibly easy.
