Automechanika Shanghai, Asia's largest trade fair for the automotive parts, components and aftermarket industry will take place from December 9 to 11 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
Despite the global recession, the show has already set a new record with over 2,200 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions including Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as the Chinese mainland, Taiwan province and Hong Kong special administrative region.
As a result, the exhibition space has expanded to nine halls,

Jason Cao, general manager of Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co Ltd, points out: "Our show is going from strength to strength and has set a new record for exhibitors and exhibition space. We have many new supporters including the Hong Kong Auto Parts Industry Association who has arranged for several Hong Kong exhibitors to display their standard parts, chassis parts and regenerates parts."
As Asia's largest sourcing platform for automotive parts, equipment and services, the show has attracted pavilions from Germany, France, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and USA and China's Taiwan province, with Spain showing for the first time.
Organized by Sernauto, the Spanish Automotive Equipment and Components Manufacturers Association, the Spanish pavilion will present a number of leading automotive companies.
David Antolin Velasco, Sernauto's international promotion director, declares: "As China has become the world's largest automotive market, Chinese consumers are looking for all kinds of products and solutions. They are especially interested in quality products. Our exhibiting companies will definitely meet their requirements because our products attain the highest European standards. We will show products ranging from suspension parts, brake systems, water pumps to metal parts."
The Singapore pavilion is organized by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises which wants to gain more market awareness for their companies in the automotive market. Daniel Chen, the organization's executive for international relations, says: "We believe Automechanika is an established industry exhibition that will create great mileage for our participating companies."
Chinese pavilion
Automechanika Shanghai will also feature the Chinese pavilions organized by several local industry associations.
The Shanghai Auto Maintenance Equipment Association will have 55 member companies of automotive maintenance and equipment manufacturers displaying their latest products.
The Zhejiang Association of Automobile Manufacturers has organized 120 exhibitors for their 2,
Software Localization,000-plus sq m exhibition space. Zhejiang province is China's major auto production hub with more than 7,000 automotive parts manufacturers.
The Committee for Vehicle Use Motor and Electrical Appliances of CAAM has organized 170 companies from the auto motor and electrical appliances industries for its 3,100 sq m pavilion.
Special zones
Automechanika Shanghai will also set up special showcase zones for electric and electronic products, engine components, hardware and tools, spraying equipment and materials, car care products, accessories and service outsourcing.
These special zones will help buyers to focus on specific products and services and build up their marketing networks.
Among the companies exhibiting in the service outsourcing zone are Anji-TNT Automotive Logistics Co Ltd, Comau (Shanghai) Automotive Equipment Co Ltd, Guehring (Changzhou) Cutting Tools Co Ltd, Quaker Chemical (China) Co Ltd, Siemens Limited China, TCM China Tool Consulting and Management Ltd and Voith Industrial Services (Shanghai) Co Ltd.

Telecommunication outsourcing, established in 2002, specializes in engineering design, body welding and assembly, powertrain and robotics.
Voith Industrial Services is one of the leading industrial suppliers offering engineering and automation service, installation and after-sales service, equipment maintenance, technical cleaning and facility management service. A range of these product groups will be demonstrated at the show.
Matchmaking forum
The Automechanika Matchmaking Forum which will run from December 9 to 10 offers an exclusive opportunity for exhibitors to meet one-on-one with domestic and international VIP buyers to explore potential business opportunities.
Heads of sourcing and procurement departments from nearly 20 companies from China, Iran, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, UAE have confirmed their attendance. Automotive original equipment manufacturers, aftermarket products manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers such as Fiat (China) Business Co Ltd, Federal Mogul China, Gates Unitta Power Transmission Limited, GDC Enterprises T/A GDC Equipment, Partquip (Pty) Ltd, Valeo Asia Purchasing Office and Yellow Hat Ltd will be present at the forum.
