Winchester cheap guest dresses, MA ―
The faces gracing the runway at the Burlington Marriott during Winchester’s version of ‘Project Runway’ were familiar ― but the clothing being modeled was far from commonplace.
The April 6 event cheap short prom dresses, organized by Women Helping Women as a fundraiser for the Winchester Chamber of Commerce, featured two parts ― models wearing outfits from local boutiques and a design competition.
Organizer Dot Butler said the sold-out event was a blast, sparking community spirit and celebrating women.
“A lot of friendships were made; there was a lot of camaraderie purple prom dresses,” she said.
The fashion show was chosen as the annual spring fundraiser for Women Helping Women, part of the chamber dedicated to networking for female business leaders.
Butler said the organizers asked prominent Winchester women to be models, including the presidents of the Winton Club and En Ka Society.At the same time, the organizers invited local seamstresses to enter a design contest based on the television show, Project Runway plus size prom dresse, in which judges from the fashion world vote on the designs. A design consultant ball gown dresses, Winchester resident Marney Grimes, was available to assist the contestants prepare their entries.
Mary Snow won the design contest with a dress made entirely of wallpaper, modeled by model Beth Locke. The gold toile dress featured a strapless woven top and thick-pleated full skirt.
Charlotte Richardson, vice president of the Winchester Home and Garden Club and a model for the Flower Drum Boutique, said she loved the outfit she modeled ― and being in the spotlight.
“Diane and Esther pink prom dresses, owners of Flower Drum Boutique cheap prom dresses, believe that a woman's body is a piece of art prom dresses 2011,” Richardson said. “I love that. I was thrilled with the ensemble they created for me to wear on the runway. The clothing made me feel strong, ######y and confident.”
Butler said the organizers interviewed each artist about their inspiration for the outfits, which were either cocktail wear or formalwear Bridesmaid dresses, and chose music for the presentation based on the interviews.
The dresses’ fame didn’t end at the event. Butler said the designs will be on display at various businesses in Winchester for the next few weeks and at Art in Bloom at NextDoor Center for the Arts, April 29 to May 1.
