These days when I drove into the RedWest campus, I noticed a lot of many people correct outside the Microsoft entrance putting on these acquainted sandwich board indicators and waving towards the drivers turning into campus. I slowed to read the handwritten indicators, but instead of selling mattresses (like most sandwich board wearers I see),
Office 2010 Product Key, they were scrawled with “Seattle Start-ups want to Hire You” and a URL and phone directing you towards the details. Wow, am I in 1999? Once (over 5 years ago), as I drove across Lake Washington, a water-skier with a giant jobs advertising banner in his outstretched arms kept pace with the eastbound traffic. And then who could forget the Monster.com blimp that flew over sporting arenas? Or the Hotjobs ad reportedly costing over a million dollars that was splayed over Time Square on New Years Eve? These dotcom antics of hungry employers have been in hibernation for the last several years. But . . . this is what I know for sure: those guys with their indicators standing exterior of RedWest right now are the early arrivers in the next wave of hiring. My phone is ringing with companies looking to hire recruiters, and the many people I hire are sitting comfortably on multiple offers. Change is in the air, I promise you . . . I can smell it. Jenna
