Devin Harris didn't like what he had just seen, and so he felt the need to say something.

"That’s kind of how we’ve been playing – we get up for the teams, the (elite) teams, and we don’t play as well against the teams at the bottom of the totem pole,'' Harris said. "It’s just a matter of energy for us – you saw it out there, we just didn’t have the same type of energy we had against the Lakers. And for whatever reason it was, we have to find that energy. Yeah, we missed some shots, but it’s just the team energy just wasn’t there tonight, for some reason.''

Lack of energy was a theme in the meeting, apparently.

"Devin brought up a lot of valid points; I need to be more aggressive, and show more energy on the floor -- show the guy I was last year,'' Brook Lopez said.

"Anthony was talking about how he had a good view watching on TV, we were like slow getting to our place in the half-court,Office Professional 2010,'' Lopez said. "We just don’t look like we have any electricity out there as a team.''

Harris said it was the first team meeting he has called this year.

"It’s just frustrating, because I know we can do it,'' he said. "I talked about this formula we’ve had all season long. We felt like, at some point in the game, we’re going to go down 10, and we have it in our heads that we can always come back against some of those teams, and that’s not the case. Sometimes we need to jump on some of these teams and really put them back on their heels. But it’s like we’re walking into a fight and we’re catching the first three punches before we realize what’s going on. It’s happening every single game. And we can’t play like that. We’ve got to start throwing some punches and come out really swinging.''

No one wanted to use the pre-game trade of Terrence Williams to Houston in a three-way deal that will be announced Wednesday as an excuse for the loss.

"At the end of the day, it’s the NBA,Office 2007 Standard,'' Kris Humphries said. "People come; people go. Obviously, you don’t want to see people traded, but you’ve got to go out and play. We’re laying eggs right now, so we’ve got to come out and figure out a way to do it. It’s us. No one else but the guys in this locker room.''

"We deal with adversity all the time,'' Harris said. "If anything, Anthony going out right before the game probably caught some guys off guard. We’ve still got to play, no matter what. Now, we don’t know how long we’re going to lose him for – obviously it’s a tough situation with the Terrence situation, but at the end of the day, we've still got to play.''

The first play of the game for the Nets was supposed to go to Anthony Morrow. A freak hamstring injury moments before tipoff changed all that.

"I did my normal routine. I felt great in warmups, everything was good,'' Morrow said. "Then, right before tipoff, I did a little hamstring stretch, my right hamstring, and it just popped. When I sat down, I came in the back and ran around a little bit and jumped around and felt good. I came back out and made a move… and it popped again. It’s pretty much like a strain. I don’t know how bad it is. MRI tomorrow. I pray it’s not too bad. They said it didn’t feel like it was a tear or anything, so that’s good news.''
