There are over twenty full-tuition scholarships covering a range of majors offered yearly by the JSCC to Alabama resident students. Students are also provided packets upon enrollment with the necessary applications to receive grants and funding to assist with their educational endeavors.
Each department within the JSCC system is staff with faculty dedicated to the success of the students. Advisors are matched with students based on the major. They help students from their initial enrollment in JSCC to plan their short term and long term goals. The advisors also help the students in finding resources that will make their transition to the four year system easier.
All students on the Jefferson State Community College campuses participate in the Statewide Transfer and Articulating System (STARS). This program consists of a database that provides guidance and direction for transfer to a four-year university in the major that has been chosen. The program provides a transfer/guide agreement which insures that no credit hours attained in the first two years at JSCC are lost.
