The Rangers did not win on Tuesday night, and sure enough there was a Tortorella tirade. The coach’s venom was not directed at his team, which lost 1-0 to the Dallas Stars on a third-period goal by Trevor Daley, but at the referees for a bad call in an otherwise dismally dull opening frame.
Beyond being excited to get the HBO treatment, the Rangers are eager to see how things are going for their “24/7” and Atlantic Division counterparts from Philadelphia. It will be more difficult to find on-ice contrast than a year ago, when the Capitals opened production with an extended losing streak and Sidney Crosby was on fire for the Penguins.
Tuesday night’s game will not be part of “24/7” until the second episode. If the on-ice happenings get more than 30 seconds of airtime beyond Tortorella’s rightful complaints about a charging call against Carl Hagelin, it will be a shock.
Tortorella does not have to go out of his way to make a scene, but perhaps the most interesting thing about the show will be to see what the famously gruff bench boss is like in unguarded moments, when the cameras on him are not accompanied by the klieg lights of a postgame press conference. There is a reason, after all, that a player like Richards would be eager to sign in New York for a reunion.
“We want to see the finished product after all the following around and the work that they’re putting in,” Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh told Sporting News. “I’m sure they’re going to make a great product, and I think guys are excited to see it.”
“It seems like everybody’s been involved here and there, and the cameras have done a really good job trying to capture everybody on the team,” McDonagh said. “At this point,コーチ 財布 格安, it could be anybody. Most guys are being themselves. I don’t see anybody go out of their way for the cameras.”
The Rangers have their own big stars as well in Richards and Henrik Lundqvist, but the HBO crews have not tipped their hand as to who will be the breakout stars of this year’s show.
“There’s a few zingers, karen millen tops, but overall he’s been calmer than he used to be,グッチ 斜めがけ,” said New York center Brad Richards,1606 red wings, who also played for Tortorella with the Tampa Bay Lightning. “I think (having the cameras around) might help, and obviously winning helps, sale on timberland boots, too.”
NEW YORK—The second installment of HBO’s “24/7” series premieres on Wednesday night, documenting the run-up to the Winter Classic for the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers. Those looking for classic outbursts from John Tortorella may come away disappointed.
Even if the Rangers are staying at Motel 6, they will be able to see “24/7.” But as the series showed last season, NHL teams stay at slightly swankier places on the road.
The Rangers will be on the road for the show’s premiere—they play in St. Louis on Thursday night and Phoenix on Friday.
“It would be interesting to see how their take is on it, and how they go about it,jimmy choo online,” McDonagh said. “It will be cool, ugg sandra, ebay uggs, and fun to see what that first episode brings about. I heard it’s going to mostly be that Philly game, which makes sense. It should be intense.”
True to form, Tortorella offered a quick “no” when asked if he was curious about the show, but said that he would watch and that it will be “fantastic” for the players.
The Rangers are 5-2-1 since, while Philadelphia, which rolled to a 5-1 victory in Washington on Tuesday night, has won six straight itself. There are obvious story lines with the Flyers, buy cheap uggs, who have lost leading scorer Claude Giroux and captain Chris Pronger to concussions, ugg store, and have the fascinating figure of Jaromir Jagr sure to get a long look from the cameras.
“I don’t know if it’s on in St. Louis or not, abercrombie and fitch shops,” Richards said. “But I’ll keep an eye out.”
For the first episode, dkny perfumes, even having seen last year’s documentary of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals, nobody is quite sure what to expect.

The game McDonagh spoke of was a 2-0 Rangers victory on Nov. 26 in which Brandon Prust and Zac Rinaldo provided a tailor-made opening for the documentary by dropping the gloves four seconds in.
