In my last publish I told all interviewees to not make the error I did and skip lunch during their interview. I thought I would expand a little on the lunch post and tell you about the “lunch interview” that you will surely encounter throughout your day. The lunch interview is logically placed around noon and is designed to let you re-fuel and also talk to an interviewer in a more relaxed setting. If you are the nervous-type, go with soup and pick up an energy bar while you are at the checkout. You can tuck it in your bag in case your interviews run long. Drinks are free, so you pick those up after you get your food. You will then likely sit down and chat, and while it should be more informal, don't forget that this is an interview. Try to work inside the things you wanted to talk about all day; this should be a venue that allows you to take a bit more control of the conversation. Make sure you look around and imagine yourself there; see if it’s the kind of place you want to work. Notice that you will likely hear technical debates, social conversations, and even a few families with children who visit throughout the day.
