The history of
Lacoste reads like a history of tennis. It was founded by legendary tennis player René
Lacoste,
Lacoste Trainers 2011, who with his teammates “The Musketeers” won the Davis Cup in 1927.
Even the crocodile logo related with the brand came from tennis. René
Lacoste was nicknamed “The Crocodile” by the U.S. press.
According to the official
Lacoste corporation history, in 1927, René
Lacoste made a wager with the Captain of the French Davis Cup crew caring a suitcase made from alligator peel.
The team captain promised the formidable athlete that he would purchase the suitcase for René
Lacoste whether he won each momentous match for the team. He did conquer always those matches,
Lacoste Observe Strap Trainers, and since then,
Lacoste UK, the juvenile player became “The Crocodile.”
The logo was drawn by Robert George,
Lacoste Canvas Trainers, a friend of René
Lacoste, who in rotate embroidered it ashore the blazer namely he wore on the courts.
