While my occupation would be to be a central hub for all things “core tech” recruiting (improvement,Windows 7 License, check, and system management) at Microsoft, one of my teammates, Julie Stringham, is the primary stage of make contact with for style and usability recruiting. Julie is headed down to Portland, Oregon next week for the annual Computer Human Interaction Conference (CHI). For those of you not in the know, CHI 2005 is the premier international conference for human-computer interaction. Julie is organizing a Microsoft “hospitality event” on Wednesday, April 6 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Multnomah Room at the Doubletree hotel in Portland. I hear the party’s theme is “Eat. Drink. Get Lucky.” Hmmm … sounds interesting. It turns out that the “lucky” part refers to cool prizes you can win … but hey,Office 2007 Standard, that’s still fun. Julie says,Office 2010 Standard, “We are giving away a pocket PC and a portable media center on behalf of the mobile devices team, and software prizes will be awarded every 20 minutes!” So if you are in Portland for the conference next week,Windows 7 Enterprise, stop on by and say hi to Julie.
